Catholic Penguins provides a spiritual home for those seeking a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a social hub for students seeking to grow their faith, while pursuing their courses of study.
Offering vibrant liturgies, prayer experiences, Bible studies, faith education, hospitality to the University community, and service to the needy, the Catholic Penguins community has something for everyone. All are welcome at our doors.
Catholic Penguins is a community of faith whose mission is to build up the kingdom of God by engaging students in the practice of their faith.
Housed at the St. John Henry Newman Center, Catholic Penguins is the official Catholic ministry of the Diocese of Youngstown at YSU. Through worship, evangelization, education, and service we form students to be mature disciples of Christ who are prepared for the life to which God calls them.
The Dominicans of the Province of St. Joseph administer Catholic Penguins. Informed by the Dominican emphasis on the unity of faith and reason, we draw from the riches of tradition to equip students to be life-long Catholics in the complexity of modern society
Catholic Penguins is open to people of all backgrounds and interests.
